Mission

Project CURA is a Creighton medical student-run organization committed to providing health education and primary prevention to underserved and disadvantaged populations in the greater Omaha area and beyond. We are dedicated to working with those in need and inspiring action in Creighton physicians-in-training by embracing Jesuit values and the foundational pillars of Project CURA:

Cultural Immersion: To engage deeply with communities whose values and perspectives different from our own, approaching every interaction with humility, respect, and a commitment to learning.

Simple Living: To develop a deeper awareness of the difficult choices faced by those in poverty by intentionally walking alongside them in solidarity.

Service and Community: To live as active members of the community, fostering meaningful relationships and embodying Cura Personalis in every encounter.

Vision

Through our work, we aim to deepen our understanding of global health disparities, foster personal growth and reflection in students, and create meaningful service-learning opportunities. Guided by Creighton University's Jesuit core values, we strive to promote:

Magis: A Latin term meaning "more," we aim for excellence in all of our endeavors.

Cura Personalis: Share gifts, pursue justice, and advocate for the poor and marginalized.

Men and Women for Others: Respect and care for each individual as a reflection of God's creation.

Unity of Heart, Mind, & Soul: Develop the whole person, integrating knowledge, service, and personal growth in all aspects of our lives.

By building lasting relationships with host communities and utilizing foundational medical skills, we gain valuable insights into global healthcare, shaping our approach to patient care as future physicians.
